The snow fell gently over the isolated little town of South Park, masking everything in a pure, undisturbed, white coat. No one ventured outside into the bitter wind, not just because it bit and stung their noses and ears, but because tonight was the night of the two biggest New Years Eve parties South Park will ever see. Only one of these parties was known to the adults.
The other party was held by none other than Eric Cartman, the fat racist boy, in his house while his mother was off at the adult's party. Everyone was invited. EVERYONE. Even Pip came. The only one missing right now was…lo and behold, the root of all Cartman's jokes, the Jewish boy Kyle Broflovski.
Stan Marsh, his best friend, sighed as he shuffled to the window for the umpteenth time, looking outside for any sign of his best friend. He knew Kyle hated Cartman, but it was no reason for him to skip out on this party! He knew it was going to be huge and be talked about in school for a long time! He shouldn't have fallen for Kyle's puppy dog eyes when he declined his offer to walk together to the party. He should have insisted that they arrive together like the couple they were!
Stan sighed again and closed the blinds.
Stan turned and looked around the room. The party was already in full swing since Cartman didn't really care about Kyle not being there, no-one seem to notice either. Craig had brought music and they'd turned it up very loud. Everyone was dancing at the moment but Stan; he lent against the windowsill and started thinking about the last few days. The Christmas and Hanukkah holidays had passed fast, with Damien getting annoyed at the huge tree in the middle of South Park. Stan had spent the entire holidays with either Kyle or Kenny. Because of the dates of Hanukkah Stan hadn't seen Kyle's reaction to his gift. He hoped Kyle had liked it though; it had taken him ages to think of the perfect gift for his boyfriend.
The doorbell rang, bringing Stan out of his reverie. He hurried over to the door, opening it with a wide smile on his face. There he was, finally! Kyle, his boyfriend!
Kyle looked up with a sheepish grin, shuffling from foot to foot. "Sorry I'm late..." Stan watched as Kyle nibbled at his lips, not even caring about the lame excuse he was probably going to give him. He was just glad he made it.
"I... actually I can't think of an excuse, I was really going to skip this party. But then my parents were about to call Shelly to babysit me and I thought I'd rather be verbally abused by Cartman than physically abused by your sister. Plus, you were here, so that made this the better choice by a long shot." Kyle gave Stan a small smile, scratching the back of his head through his ushanka. Stan took Kyle's hand and pulled him inside, shutting the door on the freezing air whirling around outside. He pulled Kyle into him and gave him a hug. It seemed like forever since he'd last been able to hug Kyle without suspicious adult eyes watching them like hawks.
"S-Stan, you're squeezing too hard!" Kyle sniffed into Stan's shoulder, but Kyle clung to him anyways, glad to see him too. His eyes wandered around the room, over the heads of the partiers and to the clock mounted on the wall. It was 11:05. 55 minutes until the New Year. Kyle felt nostalgic as he stood there, wrapped in Stan's muscular arms, and he reminisced over the past year. They had gotten together Valentine's Day of this year. The first year of their relationship was about to end.
Kyle tried to hold his tears in. He was getting sentimental 55 minutes too early! He looked at the clock again. Just kidding, 54 minutes.
Stan let go finally, and gave Kyle a peck on the cheek, and started pulling on his hand to lead him somewhere with a smirk. Kyle's heart gave a little jump.
"Where are you taking me?" Kyle asked curiously. Stan shook his head, implying that Kyle wouldn't find out till they were there. "C'mon tell me Stan!" Kyle complained.
"It's a surprise" Stan replied as he led Kyle up the stairs. Kyle sighed he hated surprises. So when Stan turned and announced that they were nearly there, Kyle was confused since they were near Cartman's back window.
"And why are we at the back window?" Kyle asked still confused
"Like I said surprise" was all Stan said before opening the window. Kyle was growing more confused by the minute. Stan smiled at his boyfriend before using the Cartman family's fire exit to climb onto the roof. Kyle looked up doubtfully not sure if he could do that.
"Kyle you coming?" Stan's voice drifted towards Kyle.
"Just because you can do that doesn't mean I can." Kyle replied.
"Have you tried?" Kyle frowned, Stan had said the words earlier this week when he, Kyle and Kenny had been climbing trees and Kyle had complained that he couldn't do it. Kyle let out a sigh before copying Stan's movements. When Kyle made it onto the roof, after five minutes of near-misses, Stan smiled.
"About time" Stan said, patting the space next to him for Kyle to sit down. Kyle shook his head and sat down next to him.
"We can't all climb as well as you." Stan laughed at Kyle's comment and wrapped his arm around Kyle's shoulders.
Kyle pouted and turned his attention away from Stan to look out across the horizon. From this place they could see the mountains where Mr. Garrison hid while in denial about his gaiety, the park, rows of houses and the supermarket, and of course, Cartman's backyard where Cartman had set up his own little Ball Drop.
Kyle leaned into Stan's side and grinned up at him. Yepp, coming here was the right choice. And thank GOD he hasn't seen Cartman yet.
Stan tightened his hold on Kyle, savoring the rare peaceful moment they were having together. No fatass. No adults. No society. The thought made Stan....hard. He bit his lips and squirmed a bit, willing his penor to stop it! He can't ruin this last night of their year!
Kyle felt Stan squirming and he immediately knew what was wrong. Plus he could practically see it through his jeans. Now normally he was a bit shy about this stuff, but the cold winter air, the empty streets, and the heat coming from his boyfriend made him antsy as well. He smirked, and with one push, straddled Stan.
Stan was immediately overwhelmed by Kyle pushing him over, but he had to admit he liked it. Kyle still had a smirk on his face which made Stan decided to take care of that and with that thought he lent up and kissed Kyle. Kyle felt his lips twinge as Stan kissed him and he nearly started laughing. Stan pulled away as Kyle nearly started laughing and smiled.
"What was the kiss for?" Kyle asked.
"What was the near laughter for?" Stan asked smirking.
"Touché."They both laughed for a while before Stan's hardness came back to their minds. Kyle looked down at Stan as a small blush tinted his cheeks. Stan smiled helpfully and pulled Kyle closer to him. Kyle could feel Stan's hardness on him and as much as he'd hate to admit it he kind of liked it.
Before Kyle or Stan could do anything about their pressing problems, they heard a loud bang and felt the ground (or roof, as that was what they were on) rumble. The herd of partiers had taken it outside to the backyard.
Kyle sighed and got off Stan, curling his legs up and placing his chin in his knees with a pout.
"Hey Stan! Kyle!"
Both looked up at the call of their names. It was Butters. Kyle gave a small smile and waved, and Stan yelled back a "Hi Butters!"
They watched him warily as he waved back and then tried to scramble up the side of the house. After five minutes of pretty much fail, Butters got to the top and pranced his way over to them. "Hiya! What are you guys doing up here?"
"We're just tired. There's a great view up here. Where's uh... Cartman?" asked Kyle, a bit afraid of the answer.
Butters looked a bit mad when Cartman's name was brought up. He scuffed his feet on the shingles and huffed, "I don't know! And I don't care! That big meany can just... can just..." He didn't finish his sentence but stalked off the roof, obviously not in the mood to talk anymore.
Kyle looked to Stan and they both shrugged. Oh well.
Suddenly, the kids below started yelling.
"We can't get a break can we?" Kyle asked sadly as he looked down at the kids below.
"Apparently not" Stan replied. "Want to go down there?"
"It took me five minutes to get up here. Do you really think I want to go down there?" Kyle said with a slight pout on his face.
"No but getting down is easy then getting up, plus there's a ladder." Stan replied a slight smirk on his face.
"Now you tell me" Kyle said turning to face his boyfriend. Stan smiled innocently and kissed Kyle.
"I thought you'd notice it is a big ladder and you're very observant" Stan explained before leaning over and kissing Kyle's neck. Kyle moaned a little as a shiver ran down his spine. Stan smirked at Kyle's reaction and kissed his neck again. Kyle moaned a little louder than before, a blush appearing on his cheeks.
"So are we going down there?" Stan asked.
"10!"
"9!"
"8!"
Kyle smirked into Stan's shoulder. "Guess we're too late. Let's watch from here."
Stan gave a small bark of a laugh and pushed Kyle down, straddling him this time. The kids down on the ground kept counting, but all Kyle could see were his lover's face and the fireworks going off in the background. Stan leaned down when the kids reached "2!" and whispered heatedly in Kyle's ear "This year...you're all mine." and bit into the nape of his neck, hard enough to draw some blood, but gently enough to be loving. Kyle bucked into Stan and grabbed a fistful of his hair. His eyes grew wide and took in the scene before him, the night sky lit with a bazillion different colors and the sounds of the party reaching frenzy down on the ground. His eyes teared up again and this time, he let them fall. It was the right time, and he knew he'd never be in a more perfect place, than here in Stan's arms.
